Where is God when things go crazy?

Where is God when things are going crazy? Where is God when the world is topsy-turvy? Does God have anything to say about the things that are taking place in the earth? Psalm 75 1 We thank you, God, we thank you‚ÄĒ your Name is our favorite word; your mighty works are all we talk about. 2-4 You say, "I'm calling this meeting to order, I'm ready to set things right. When the earth goes topsy-turvy And nobody knows which end is up, I nail it all down, I put everything in place again. I say to the smart alecks, 'That's enough,' to the bullies, 'Not so fast.'" 5-6 Don't raise your fist against High God. Don't raise your voice against Rock of Ages. He's the One from east to west; from desert to mountains, he's the One. 7-8 God rules: he brings this one down to his knees, pulls that one up on her feet. God has a cup in his hand, a bowl of wine, full to the brim. He draws from it and pours; it's drained to the dregs. Earth's wicked ones drink it all, drink it down to the last bitter drop! 9-10 And I'm telling the story of God Eternal, singing the praises of Jacob's God. The fists of the wicked are bloody stumps, The arms of the righteous are lofty green branches. So where is God … [Read more...]

Stop and Think…

Why is it when we say that a Christian should abstain from doing certain things many feel that we are asking them to be religious? Yet we are not supposed to be normal like the world, but instead to be extraordinary in our lives and different in our actions. For it is not what we abstain from that saves us. No! Only Jesus Christ can do that. Instead it is setting ourselves apart and not partaking in the things of the world that sanctifies us and makes us ready for service and a deeper relationship with God and other believers. It is sanctification that keeps the enemy from infiltrating our lives through doors that he crouches by (Genesis 4:7), awaiting to enter through. It is by setting myself apart and getting rid of those things that take up my time and energy that I make time and room for God in my life. Now a Christian can have fun in life. Yet our fun should not be sinful. Even in our call to separation, we are not simply called to look and sound like other Christians. Instead we are called to make ourselves ready to have relationship with God and be who He has created us to be. We are to quiet all of the noise that is around us so that we can hear His voice clearly. We … [Read more...]

Coming As A Child…

It's not everyday that things are so plainly brought to our attention, but when they are, we must use all our senses to receive what is being pushed in our direction. That being said... Today I read Luke 17:11-19 In this passage, Jesus was headed to Jerusalem. He was between two different lands, Samaria and Galilee. There were ten lepers that saw him passing and cried out to Him for mercy. The first thing that I noticed was that they had enough faith to cry out to Him. Not only did they cry out to Him, but they knew that He cared enough, that if they called out to Him, He would answer. Question: Do I have enough faith to call out to God? And if so, will I also make my request known to Him? Answer: It seems that this question alludes to a type of prayer. Prayer is communication between me and God, right?! I guess the real question here is, am I willing to pray and make my requests known, with expectation...not just that my prayers will be heard or answered, but instead that He will answer my prayers? I am willing to pray, but I guess the best way to put it is that my spirit is willing, but my flesh is weak. I think that I made my prayer time so complicated that … [Read more...]

The Dark Hour of Despair

There are times when we feel like everything is crumbling. You know those times...I know those times. We have all tasted the bitter taste of fear tormenting us about some aspect of our lives. Its the part that keeps us up at night, wondering, pondering, waiting. But what are we waiting for? It is like our soul or our spirit, some part of us, is awaiting an answer. What is the question? Can I trust you? Will you let me down? Will you let me fall? Can I depend on you? Yes, these are the deep gut wrenching questions that seem to haunt our minds and disturb our peaceful thoughts. Why? Yes, that too, is a question. Why? Well, we need to know at the core of ourselves. That there is someone who is looking out for us when life seems to be throwing curve balls. At those times, if we quiet ourselves and listen hard, what can be heard is a still quiet voice saying "I am here. I will not leave you nor forsake you. You can trust me." And knowing that it was the voice of the Lord we still kinda wonder, "really!?" The thing about God is He has no problem with us having questions. He really wants us to ask of Him; to be inquisitive and ponder the answers. He created … [Read more...]

What do you see?

Read Numbers 13:17-33 17 And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way by the South, and go up into the hill-country: 18 and see the land, what it is; and the people that dwell therein, whether they are strong or weak, whether they are few or many; 19 and what the land is that they dwell in, whether it is good or bad; and what cities they are that they dwell in, whether in camps, or in strongholds; 20 and what the land is, whether it is fat or lean, whether there is wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the first-ripe grapes. 21 So they went up, and spied out the land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, to the entrance of Hamath. 22 And they went up by the South, and came unto Hebron; and Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were there. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.) 23 And they came unto the valley of Eshcol, and cut down from thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it upon a staff between two; they brought also of the pomegranates, and of the figs. 24 That place was called the valley of Eshcol, … [Read more...]

Time To Fight

A mistake. An accidental wrong.¬† I was immediately aware of my fault.¬† My conscience rapidly alerted me and once it did, I repented.¬† Then, I felt a sadness and shame.¬† Quickly in my heart the Lord told me not to stay in that place emotionally.¬† I needed to get up from there.¬† I had just listened to a vision, The_Final_Quest_01, by Rick Joyner where he describes¬†how the hordes¬†of hell attempt to ride the backs of¬†Christians.¬† When the Christian doubts fear, shame, or any other mental attack of the enemy, a vulture¬†comes¬†and vomits condemnation on him so that he thinks it is conviction.¬† Well at that moment I saw exactly what he meant.¬† Ephesians 6:10-18 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.¬† Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.¬† For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts, of wickedness in the heavenly places.¬† Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.¬† Stand therefore, having girded your … [Read more...]
