Caring: Week 1 Day 2

August 2013: Week 1 Day 2 Care: What does it mean? Yesterday we read Psalm 1. We focused on verse 3 where we are told that God is our caretaker. Did you examine your life? Were you able to see the ways that God has been there for you and provided the right environment for your growth? If you weren’t able to see that, have you decided that you would become the person that is described in Psalms 1? Today we are going to take a look at the word care and what it means. For this, I went to the dictionary and you can do the same. With words like this there are two different definitions. There is the word care that we have determined we will give to God. It is a noun. Let’s remember what a noun is. It is a person place or thing. Why is this important, you may ask… Well, when we are trying to understand concepts and the precepts in the word of God, we have to know what words mean. If we can come to an intellectual understanding of the words that are being used, the true meaning of the concepts and be translated into our hearts. Ok…back to the word care. The word care that is a noun is the something that we give to God. That person, place, or thing is defined in … [Read more...]

Caring: Week 1

As you may know, this month's word focus is on the caring. Today we are going to prepare for this week's study and focus on what the bible means when it says that God cares for us. What's to come for this week? The scripture for this week is Psalm 27:5 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me. You shall stretch forth Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me. This week's declaration is No matter what I am going through, the Lord cares. No matter what happens, He will take care of me. No matter who or what is up against me, the Lord will save me... Now that we have established our scripture for the week and made our declaration, there is something that we have to remember this week... Remember this...God never fails. He is always there and He cares. Our prayer focus for the week is... Father, there are times when my heart is weak and many times when I cannot speak. The cares of this life try to weigh me down, but help me to remember that I am not alone, you're always around. Help me to give all of my worries, fears, anxieties and cares to you. Help me to remember that you care and will always see me through. ~In Jesus' … [Read more...]

Reminding Myself

There are times when I am going through things and I just feel...some kinda way. Those are times when I have to encourage and remind myself of the truth. The first truth that I am reminding myself of today is never fails. And just n case I almost forget, I've added it to my screensaver. It is so easy to forget sometimes. I want to do things my way at times and treat others the way that they have treated me. You know all the pain and the time spent crying can feel really horrible, but then I have to remember that love endures. That makes me question my motives heart. Am I only thinking of myself in the situation or is this about the ones that I love. The truth is that I have to continue to think on and remind myself of these things so that I can become better at loving those that God has given me to love. This can even be true with my kids. After a long stressful day, I'm tired and ready to go to bed. Sometimes they are not. They want to sit and talk or cuddles and play. When your tired, it's hard to have fun. Well, I know it is for me, but I have to give them what they need. When my oldest has been at school all day and needs his mama, I … [Read more...]

Meditating On The Word

In the Bible we are told that it is important for us to focus or meditate upon the word of the Lord.  Meditation is not something that many Christians are familiar with.  The reason is that there is a secular way of doing it that is more of a taboo than a positive way of focusing our energy on the Lord and His word. In Genesis 24:63 "Isaac went out to meditate in the field in the evening, and he lifted his eyes and looked, and there the camels were coming."  The NKJV Bible states that "to meditate may mean to walk around in do much more than contemplate.  The idea is that one would reflect upon God's Word in a thoughtful way, appropriating its trough personally and applying them to life." Joshua 1:8  "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it.  For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success." Joshua was instructed to meditate upon the word by God.  This was to be a part of his daily life.  We should assume that it is also to be a part of our lives as well. Psalm 1:2  But his delight is in the law of the … [Read more...]

Proverbs 7

1 My son, keep my words, And treasure my commands within you. 2 Keep my commands and live, And my law as the apple of your eye. 3 Bind them on your fingers; Write them on the tablet of your heart. 4 Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,” And call understanding your nearest kin, 5 That they may keep you from the immoral woman, From the seductress who flatters with her words. 6 For at the window of my house I looked through my lattice, 7 And saw among the simple, I perceived among the youths, A young man devoid of understanding, 8 Passing along the street near her corner; And he took the path to her house 9 In the twilight, in the evening, In the black and dark night. 10 And there a woman met him, With the attire of a harlot, and a crafty heart. 11 She was loud and rebellious, Her feet would not stay at home. 12 At times she was outside, at times in the open square, Lurking at every corner. 13 So she caught him and kissed him; With an impudent face she said to him: 14 “ I have peace offerings with me; Today I have paid my vows. 15 So I came out to meet you, Diligently to seek your face, And I have found you. 16 I have spread my bed with … [Read more...]
