Recognize that the END is Near, so do not reject KNOWLEDGE

It has been a primary objective of this website to bring you information that is inspirational and encouraging.   I have wanted to make sure that among all of the things that were coming forth on the internet, the content from In Faith Today would build you up in the faith. ¬†We have, on may occasions, asked you to search deep within yourself and ask the hard questions that individuals often avoid. ¬†Ultimately our primary goal, has been to point you to the our Lord God and Creator, through our Savior Jesus Christ. I want to assure you that this objective has not changed. ¬†However, it has been impressed upon me by the Most High God that it is time to begin to look at various topics that are declared in the Bible as important, relevant, and key to our lives as believers. ¬†Although it will still point you to our Father in heaven, some will find it troubling because a few topics may have been deemed, by some, as those that are hard to understand. ¬†Yet, it is not for us to shy away from that which is hard to understand. ¬†We must, instead seek the Lord and study, so that we may come to uncover the truth and live according to His will. If you read the title of this … [Read more...]

What is anxiety? Anxiety is a state of mind were a person is concerned about something or someone.¬† It has various ranges.¬† ‚ÄúIt can go from genuine concern... ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state.¬† ~Philippians 2:20 So I am all the more anxious to send him back to you, for I know you will be glad to see him, and then I will not be so worried about you.¬† ¬†~Philippians 2:28 And, apart from other things, there is the daily pressure on me of my anxiety for all the churches. ¬†~2 Corinthians 11:28 to obsessions that originate from a distorted perspective of life.‚ÄĚ(source The Master Study Bible)   For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? ‚ÄúLook at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. … [Read more...]

Stop Being Anxious and Fearful?

What am I going to do? I am not happy? ¬†I feel overwhelmed. I have too much going on and I don't know how I am going to be able to do all of this. What will tomorrow look like? Will I be able to help my family? Will they think I'm a failure? What about me? Where is my place in all of this? These are questions that we all ask at some point in time in our lives. ¬†Sometimes we ask the questions and then continue to be productive in life. ¬†At other times, these questions cause us to begin to experience certain emotions within ourselves that are hard to get past. ¬†Whether we realize it or not, when we do not deal¬†with these thoughts in the correct manner, they produce anxiety within us. Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad. ¬†~Proverbs 12:25 What is anxiety? Anxiety is defined as... a condition of mental uneasiness arising from fear or solicitude. Very few of us can say that we have never experienced anxiety. ¬†From the moment that we begin to ask questions like, what am I going to do, and are not able to provide and answer, anxiety arises within us. ¬†We are uncertain about the future and become fearful because we have … [Read more...]

Does wisdom require patience?

Throughout my life, I have come to a place where I had to make a decision. Naturally, I'm sure you have been in this place too. Often times, I have not been sure about the thing I should do or the words that I should say. ¬†If I am to be completely honest with you, at moments where I am full of emotions, I don't want to wait or take my time. ¬†I get rather antsy... I want to hurry up and make a decision or say something. I have come to realize that the wise are patent because they wait to hear wisdom speak. ¬†When we move or act hastly, we are unable to hear wisdom clearly because we are acting out of our own wills and thoughts. Hear instruction and be wise, and do not disdain it. ~Proverbs 8:33 When we decide to turn from our own wills and thoughts, we turn from pride and arrogance. ¬†We turn from evil and perverse things. ¬†By turning from that which God hates, evil and perverse things, we turn to God. ¬†By turning to God we turn to wisdom. I wisdom, dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge and discretion. ¬†The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate. ¬†~Proverbs 8:12, 13 This seems so simple, but it is harder to … [Read more...]

The Lord is My Shepherd

Trust in the Lord, He is Faithful   (I wanted to revive this and our trust in Him) Psalm 23:1-6 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me besides the still waters He restores my soul; He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name‚Äôs sake Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me;¬† Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever. This psalmist knew that God was faithful.¬† He saw God as a daily provider that would always take care of Him. My question to you today is how do you see God? Do you trust Him? Do you trust His word?   The Lord is my shepherd‚Ķ (you may listen to the audio as this is taught on In His Name Ministries Prayer and Intercession, prayer line.) Psalm 78:52, 53 But He made His own people go forth like sheep, And guided them in the wilderness like a flock; And He led them on safely, so that they did not … [Read more...]

Is Our Faith Valid

Have you ever thought about the validity of your faith? What about the law and our faith? It is mentioned in: Romans 3:27 Romans 2:17, 23 1 Corinthians 1:29 Ephesians 2:9 After reading scripture, I can see all God has done for me has been done in a strategic way. Allow me to explain... I am ¬†"saved by grace through faith and not of myself. ¬†It is a gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." Ephesians 2:8,9 I knew that I was saved by grace, but I have never taken the time to think about what this scripture really says. Take a moment and look into this with me... My works nor my deeds saved me. ¬†My salvation is a gift of God and the word says that it is through faith that I am saved. Is it through my faith in God that I am saved? Yes, but by His grace. ¬†It is through my faith in what He has done. ¬†There is nothing alone that I can do apart from God. ¬†I cannot even save myself. For if I had faith, that would be great, but it is not until the grace of God has entered in to the equation that I am saved. So, what then is the grace of God? I believe it is the power to be saved. ¬†It is, as one commentry puts it, "the source of … [Read more...]

10 Scriptures To Read When You Are Experiencing Doubt

We all have faith issues sometimes. Faith vs. Doubt Faith deals with what you can't see, while doubt deals with what you can. It sounds confusing, but Faith tells you that something that hasn't happened or that can't be seen, will be. Doubt says that because of what you see or because of what has already happened, things won't be. Faith As A Gift It has been said that faith is a gift from God and there is no way to increase it. ¬†While I agree with the first part of this statement, the second part is not true. So then, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. ~Romans 10:17 So what does this mean? Can Faith Grow? Well, we have all been given a certain measure of faith by God (Romans 12:3), but our faith can grow. (Luke 17:21, Mark 4:24) ¬†However that growing is not in the sense of more or less. ¬†Instead it is in the sense of being of quality. The question is not, "How much faith do I have?" as much as it is, "Is my faith strong?" Without strong faith, doubt creeps in and exposes us to troubles and fears in our lives. Steps To Take There are steps that can be taken to help with this process. We have to hear, read, or speak the word of God because … [Read more...]

God’s Nature or Evil Nature

Each person has a specific type of character. We are born a certain way, with specific personality traits. Yet many of our character traits, whether we know it or not, form over time. As a child we begin to take on the nature of those around us. Although not completely developed from our caregivers, our character meshes with our personality and we are developed. Adversity, challenges, and trials help to develop certain aspects of our character, while joyful experiences like love, laughter, and fulfillment of hope develop other aspects of who we are. If you've ever been around a young person and observed their actions, you would see these changes occur in their development. If this is the truth in the natural...what can we say, then, about the spiritual? Do you remember the story of Cain and Able? I'm sure you do... Two brothers, the first two sons of Adam and Eve. They were the first to be born of the curse, in pain, and distress of child rearing. Cain, the oldest, would be his mother's first experience of pain and his father's first successor and student. Never having parented before, Adam and Eve would have obviously done their best, but without the direct … [Read more...]
