Genesis 1:26-31

And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind.  And God saw that it was good.

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our¬† likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”¬† So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.¬† Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.¬† Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so.¬† Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good.¬† So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.¬† ~Genesis 1:25-31

What does this Scripture tell us?

When God created us He made us beautiful.  We were created in His image and in His likeness.  He looked upon us and saw that what He had done was very good.  Many times we fail to remember that we were not just some accident that was waiting to happen.  Our God created us with a purpose in mind and he gave us specific things to do.  He made us each different and unique to His liking.  We must never forget that when He looks at us, He sees a portion of Himself.  That, my friend, is a beautiful thing to behold.

It is also important that we remember the assignment that the Lord gave us.  He commanded that we be fruitful and multiply upon the earth, fill and subdue the earth, and have dominion over the earth and everything in it.  Most of us have forgotten these first commandments given by the Lord God.

The questions I must ask are:

How can you be fruitful in the earth?
How can you multiply upon the earth?
How could you fill the earth and subdue it?
In what ways can you have dominion over the earth?

The Word In Our Hearts

Now…don’t make this a huge project.¬† We don’t need to be overwhelmed.¬† We can take this one step and one day at a time.¬† How can you do these things in your life?¬† How will they impact the lives of others?

Remember: So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be put to shame.”
Romans 10:11

  1. I have been browsing online more than three hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. In my view, if all web owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the net will be a lot more useful than ever before.

  2. Great article. Waiting for more.
